You probably have a joomlart plugin or module that is not compatible.
If you can access a terminal you can find the culprit by grepping it :The easiest way to upgrade to J5 would be to restore a backup and then deactivate the plugins/module if you don't use them.
If you use them keep J4 and wait till they have an update.
